# Missing form submissions

> Find out the common causes of missing form responses and what you can do about them.

## How form submissions work

A submission is automatically recorded when a respondent submits the form and reaches the [ending](https://www.fillout.com/help/ending-page) (or thank you page). [Partial responses](https://www.fillout.com/help/partial-submissions) may also be recorded and appear in the [**Results**](https://www.fillout.com/help/results) tab, depending on your plan.

## How to fix common issues

**Submission not showing in Results**

* Check that you have sent the share link (not the preview link)
* Check that they reached the Ending page
* If they submitted partially, check whether your [plan](https://www.fillout.com/pricing) supports partial responses
* If you updated your link's [slug or custom ending](https://www.fillout.com/help/custom-link#edit-your-link-ending), check if you shared the version with the previous slug (default form links will still work)

**Partial response is missing**

* Check if your form only has one page. Partial submissions are recorded when the respondent clicks **Next** or a similar button, so single-page forms won't have partial submissions
* Similarly, for multi-page forms, check if the respondent clicked **Next** after completing the page
* Check if the respondent refreshed the page, which may have cleared their in-progress submission

**Submission is missing from an integration**

* Check that the integration is connected and working
* Check that the submission was recorded in the **Results** tab
* Check that the relevant fields are [mapped correctly](https://www.fillout.com/help/additional-integration-mappings)
* Check if you have deleted or updated any columns or fields in your integration

**Respondent says they submitted, but you can't find their response**

* Search for their name or email in the **Results** tab
* Confirm they used the correct form link
* Check whether the response was recorded as a partial response

**Some fields are blank**

* Check if [page logic or branching](https://www.fillout.com/help/page-logic) caused the respondent to skip those fields
* Check if the fields are marked as required
* Review the [conditional logic](https://www.fillout.com/help/conditional-hiding) rules of your fields

**Response has incorrect information**

* Check if the field has a default value or [URL parameter](https://www.fillout.com/help/url-parameters) that may be overwriting the respondent's input
* Check your [logic](https://www.fillout.com/help/logic) rules for conditions that may be changing field values
* Check [calculations or formulas](https://www.fillout.com/help/calculations) that affect the field
