Fillout, our online form builder, just crossed 10,000 paying customers.
At the start of 2025, as AI coding models kept improving, we started rethinking our business and what we could do for our customers beyond forms.
Could AI help non-engineers build software that businesses can actually rely on?
We built Zite, initially as an experiment, to help answer this question.
Today, thousands of Zite apps are in use across SMBs, Fortune 500s, and government organizations, and usage is growing multiples faster than Fillout and other no-code tools.
There’s a lot left to build, but we’re incredibly excited about what’s ahead.
So today, we're making it official: our company is now Zite.
Fillout isn’t going anywhere: it remains its own product under the Zite umbrella, and will continue to benefit from improvements across our products.

How we got here
We started Fillout four years ago to help the people closest to a problem build solutions without waiting months for engineering time.

Pre-AI, most "build anything" platforms hit the same wall: they were either too complex to learn or too limited to be useful.
So we picked a focused starting point - forms. Every business uses them, they touch important workflows, and, even in 2022, we heard over and over that current solutions weren’t meeting customer needs.
Since Fillout’s initial release, we expanded into scheduling, approvals, document generation, and payments. But everything was still rooted in forms - until last year.
What changed
AI has made it dramatically cheaper and faster to build software. You can go from an idea to a working interface fast.
But there's a big gap between "I built something" and "my business can rely on this."
With most AI tools, you describe what you want and hope for the best. If something goes wrong, you can't see why, and you can't fix it yourself.
That's fine for a prototype. It's not when real data, real customers, and real workflows are on the line.
Zite closes that gap. You can see your app's logic laid out visually, edit the interface directly, and work with your data in a way that makes sense.
Zite is also designed to integrate with the tools and data you already use, just like Fillout.
It’s the original no-code vision: people who aren't engineers solving real problems with custom software.
What happens to Fillout
Fillout stays Fillout, now under the Zite umbrella company. The product and your forms remain at fillout.com under your same account.
What will change: Fillout is getting more powerful.
You can already connect Fillout to Zite Database and build apps on top of your form submissions.
Today we're introducing an updated Fillout brand to reflect its place in the Zite ecosystem.
In the coming weeks, we're rolling out fine-grained permissions, groups, and more flexible access control that will work across Fillout and Zite apps.

What’s next
Zite launched last April, and a few months later we released Zite Database - a storage solution that works across both Zite and Fillout
Zite Database has been adopted by thousands of teams and is growing at 30% month over month.
People are starting agencies built entirely on Zite, building dozens of apps for clients. Others are replacing entire internal tool stacks.
The way software gets built is changing fast.
Soon, the idea that you need an engineering team to build every business app will start to feel as outdated as needing a developer to build a static website.
We're building Zite to be the platform where that happens - where anyone can build, understand, and control the software their business runs on.
We're hiring across the board to make it happen.
And if you haven't tried Zite yet - build your first app.
